Curve - Fait Accompli 12"

Curve is still one of my favorite bands of the early 90's, and they get a fair amount of play on my table. This is one of their best releases in my opinion, though they did put out a whole pile of amazing music. Toni Halliday is graced with both a beautiful voice and well, is gorgeous herself! I always had difficulty placing Curve into any one particular genre, as they floated somewhere between goth, shoegaze and dance. I'm guessing in the end it really doesn't matter WHERE you categorize them, as long as they rock, and these guys sure how to do that! These tracks herin give you an ample sample of just house much noise they can produce on a single ep. So my advice is, kick out the parents for an evening, and crank this one up! You'll feel much better after...

Track 1, Fait Accompli

Track 2, Arms Out

Track 3, Sigh

UK Anxious Records 1992, ANXT 36

Personal rating 4.5/5

Curve [still] is one of my favorite bands. I had the pleasures of meeting them on the Come Clean tour and I must say that they were very very polite and happy to hang out with our crew. I hate that they never really caught on this side of the Atlantic - somehow, they were overshadowed by Garbage of all things.

Be sure to grab The Way of Curve - an excellent 2-disc retrospective!

i can't understand why this band was never a monster success in terms of a bigger audience- their stuff still rocks harder today than most of what's on offer...
thanks for this...
