General Public - Faults And All 12"

Another request, and one that is long overdue (sorry Tinywhite). Though General Public were often the angst of many English Beats fans throughout the world for essentially splitting the band up, they managed to keep a good selection of fans with their solid ska-pop sound they kept through to the end of their short career. General Public are basically Ranking Roger and Dave Wakeling, who were the heart of The English Beat, and largely responsible for the success they had. The band released 2 solid albums, All The Rage and Hand To Mouth, and one well.. rather shite one in Rub It Better. The latter is a good case of why decent bands shouldn't try an resurface many years later after the glimmer they had is gone. Although I'll Take You There is a decent song, it is nowhere near the quality of their previous releases. I saw Dave a few years back, playing under the guise of The English Beat (notable without Ranking Roger, and a horn section). Although the show was enjoyable and got in the General Public hits as well, I had to leave asking.. what the hell was a DJ doing there scratching?! Bring back the sodding horns. Dave is a brilliant guy, and I wish him all the best. Perhaps one day the hatchet can be buried, and we'll see an English Beat reunion (right).

Wow, it has been awhile since I requested some General Public, thanks for taking the time to post this (im d/l'ing it now). I did enjoy their album "rub it better" I listen to it more than the first 2. It solidified the fact that they (Wakeling and Roger) should stop making solo records and keep working together. Hopefully a reunion will happen soon.

Oh, and did you know you were linked on the totalfuzzy blog, thats sure to bring you more traffic.
