Ultravox - Lament 12"

Another brilliant gem of a song, and number 4 on my list of top 10 songs of the 80's. There are a few Ultravox songs which would qualify for this list, but given the beauty of this track, it had to appear here. This 12" offers an extended version which is fairly different than the album version, which also appears on this 12". Like the album, this 12" is recorded in digital format, which offers excellent sound quality. The artwork on the sleeve is also a persuasive factor, and also the lovely poser that comes inside! I've put this song on many a mixed tapes in my days (so retro), and I guess I should start putting it on cds as well. I haven't done this for a long time, but I think my fiance needs some beautiful slow songs to listen to in her car :) I love this song so much that I've considered it as a wedding song, though I have a HUGE list of songs which I have to narrow down. The flip song, 'Heart Of The Country', is a lovely instrumental, and if given some lyrics could easily have been a single on it's own. A highly recommended purchase when you visit your next record shop or record show.

Track 1, Lament (Extended)

Track 2, Heart Of The Country (Instrumental)

Hi - As For Lament 12" fame,... well its B-Side 'Heart Of The Country' made it actually on a 12" A-Side! This was released in Germany instead of Lament, have a listen to the extended 11 minute version on ULTRAVOX - Rare 2.
