Voice Of America - Story Of Love 12"

I was asked via this blog to make a list of my top 10 songs of the 80's. Instead of writing a mere list, I figured it would be more pertinent to make actual listings for each of these picks. I hope you enjoy these songs, as they each hold some sentiment to me.

Number one on the list is one of my favorite songs period, a beautiful slow tune by the band Voice Of America. This song rivals any slow tune that existed in the 80's, and there were many of them. Although this has special memories for me, I think you'll agree that this is a treasured gem in the synth culture. Forgive the few clicks at the beginning of the track, but it is an extremely hard one to find, and despite me having this version AND a test pressing, I cannot find one copy that doesn't have audible noise in the first few seconds. I guess this means the previous owners also shared my sentiment with this song! The flip is a rather raunchy, almost Sigue Sigue Sputnik track, with a Martin Luther King speech playing in between lyrics. Download and enjoy a true classic that graced the Hardest Hits CD series.

Track 2, Story Of Love

Track 2, V.O.A.
