I picked this up at the last Mojave 3 show I went to in Toronto, they were giving them out in limited numbers and thankfully I got there early! This is a soon to be released side project by Mojave 3 members Neil Halstead and Ian McCutcheon and electronic performer Lisa Billson. If you're already a fan of Mojave 3, then you'll know what to expect here; a very Mojave 3 sounding track. Since I'm a huge fan of Mojave 3, this is right up my alley. The beautiful sounding alt-country vibes swimming out of your speakers, are a trade off for replacing the gorgeous vocals of one Rachel Goswell for Lisa Billson. Surprisingly, these vocals seem to represent the music nicer than Rachel's.. which is odd to say, as I've always been mesmerized by her. This is beautiful stuff, and the album is SURE to be amazing! From the other tracks I've already heard, this will surely be the new sensation in the UK, and hopefully in North America as well. Sheer brilliance, but then again, what do you expect from Neil Halstead, the master of beautiful songwriting? The album is out on June 5th, available on Graveface Records.
