The Primitives - Really Stupid 12"

Since we're pulling out the older shoegaze and twee gems, I figured it was time for another Primitives post. This is one that you will have a really hard time finding, in that it's on the original Lazy Records label, and not on the later repressing on RCA/BMG. These originals fetch a hefty sum when they show up on Ebay, so you'll have to dig deep into your wallet to aquire it. Though pricey, it's one that's really worth having in your collection. This was The Primitives in their prime, full of fuzz, 'almost' following the path that The Jesus & Mary Chain took in their noisier days. The songs are quite short, but pack the punch needed in the few short minutes, to deliver the quality material that made this band amazing. Even the flip tracks on this single are album worthy gems, and need to be adored as much as the single itself.

Track 1, Really Stupid

Track 2, We Found A Way To The Sun

Track 3, Where The Wind Blows

Fantastic up! I've always loved their debut album, but had no clue of these tunes being in existence. It was better than I expected. Thanks!

Wow, I just came across your blog and you're consistently posting great stuff here - bravo! I wonder if you might be able to fill a request for the Pearl EP by Chapterhouse? I'm just getting into them and am really looking forward to hearing this. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Sure, I can try and put that up in the next few days.

You'll find most of their earlier 'Lazy Records' stuff to be of this calibre. There's actually a compilation of their earlier works on the Lazy label which is worth grabbing.
